Data formats
The minimum data we need to be able to quote and assemble your board is a set of
gerber files, plus a Bill of Materials (BOM). We prefer extended gerber 274X to 274
gerber, but we can work with it, and we like Excel BOMS (xls or xlsx) in the following
format, where SMT package footprint, tolerance, and dialectric are specified :
Part No Description Reference Qty
2447672 RES 4K7 1% 0805 R226, R338, R442 3
2447592 RES 1K5 1% 0603 R126 1
2331851 RES 100R 1% 0402
R37, R58, 2
1855889 CAP CER 33N 100V 10% X7R 1206 C9 1
2675345 DIO BAT54A+ SOT23-3 D37 1
3139931 IC TS3594CXT SOIC-14 IC1 1
We prefer and are able to handle more intelligent data from your PCD design
packages in the following formats:-
Valor ODB++ CAD Project (X),
GENCAD files,
IPC-D-356 file,
Mentor Graphics Neutral files,
Cadence Allegro Ascii files,
Zuken Cadstar or Visula (CADIF file),
Protel Ascii PCB file (v3.0),
SCI-Cards Neutral file,
UniCAM(R) Project,
EE Designer III Ascii file,
Incases TL CAD file,
IPC-2581 CAD file,
PADS PowerPCB,
Pantheon PCB design file,
Accel Technologies Tango & PCAD EDA file,
PCAD PDI Tango DOS PCB file,
Supermax E-CAD file.
These provide the benefit of having component references, footprints, and centroid
positions embedded into the data package, all of which we as assemblers require to
know. Please contact us and we can aid you with the data extraction / generation
process.
Or we can utilise pick and place / manufacturing data from an exisiting SMT program
from Mydata, Europlacer, Fuji, Panasonic, Philips, Quad, Sanyo, Siemens, FABmaster
and Contact machines.
